I've heard alot of people having problems with there internet connection while using a router. It can be very aggravating but it can be dealt with if your losing your connection. Alot depends on what router your using. Most people prefer Linksys but there are others that work comparably.

I personally have an Belkin router. I've had a few issues with it but not alot thankfully. Of the 2 routers I think the Linksys is more easy to configure than the Belkin. The Linksys pretty much auto configures itself when you you hook it up. The Belkin is a little more difficult sometimes. This router has an built in firewall which I disabled on mine because it causes problems especially if your into playing your online PC Games. But I would recommend the Linksys just because its easier to use.

I'm going to show how I fix my internet connection when I lose it. There are alot of things to factor in as far as whats causing it whether its your firewall blocking it or its a networking problem but I'll give a list of things to do to fix it.

1) First shut down your computer.

2) Unplug your modem first.

3) Unplug your router.

4) Wait about 60 seconds.

5) Plug the router in first let it fully load up.

6) Then the modem let it fully load up before you start your PC back up.

Start your computer up. Your internet connection should be working just fine. If it doesn't just repeat the steps again and wait a little longer before you plug the modem and your router back in. It should automatically detect your IP address. When thats complete it will be up and running. Hope this helps everyone having problems with your internet connection.

Hi guys the way I did it is just like I stated in the article. Remember to shut your computer down first then unplug the router then the modem for about 60 seconds or so after that plug the modem in first wait until it loads up fully then go ahead and plug the router back in wait until its loaded then start your computer up. It should renew your IP address to get it working ok. Thanks for reading.
